This series consist of sound recordings from the 1964 Democratic National Convention held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The recordings include audio recordings from the major television network broadcasts of the convention, recordings made by the Democratic National Committee from various events at the convention, and recordings made to be played at the convention and campaign events. The recordings include the acceptance speeches of Lyndon B. Johnson and Hubert H. Humphrey as the party’s nominees for President and Vice President and the keynote speech by John Pastore, Senator from Rhode Island. Recordings of meetings and events of the Young Democrats are included. There are recordings of tributes to John F. Kennedy, including one from his brother Robert F. Kennedy. There are also sets of sheet music that were for performance at campaign events, as well as accompanying documents.
